Revitalization of St. Michael’s Fortress
The project Revitalization of St. Michael’s Fortress aims to contribute to the sustainable economic growth of Šibenik and the surrounding region through the development and broadening of cultural tourism. With this project, St. Michael’s Fortress simultaneously became a recognizable monument of cultural heritage in the very heart of the old town, daily accessible to visitors, which promotes revalorization and revitalization of Croatian cultural assets. Also, fortress is one of the most prestigious open air venues in the region.
Kreator[atk] created a visual identity for project. Visual identity and slogan “City is a stage” were used as brand for cultural tourism offer of Sibenik. It was created as result of five months project based on participatory methods, involnving over 30 key stakeholders of cultural tourism in Sibenik and over 300 participants in public research. Project included education, workshops, research and selection process. Besides visual identity, kreator released Analysis of Cultural Tourism Offer and Possibilities, document that was later used as suorce for creation of tourism development strategy in Sibenik.
St. Michaels fortress was elected as Best cultural attraction in Croatia in 2014.
